Description | Mouse monoclonal to PIAS1.PIAS1 is a member of the PIAS [protein inhibitor of activated STAT (signal transducer and activator oftranscription)] family of transcriptional modulators. PIAS1 functions as an E3 small ubiquitin-likemodifier (SUMO) ligase. It stabilizes the interaction between UBE2I and the substrate, and functionsas a SUMO-tethering factor. PIAS1 plays an important role in the transcriptional regulation ofnumerous cellular pathways, including STAT, NFkB, p53 and the steroid hormone signalingpathways. Recent studies revealed that PIAS1 is an important regulator for innate immunity, inflammatory cytokine signaling and regulatory T cell differentiation. |
