Description

Human Von Willebrand Factor (VWF) is a multimeric glycoprotein, which is involved in binding coaggulation factor VIII and in adhesion of platelets at sites of vascular damage. In this process the VWF-A3 domain binds to collagen in the vascular matrix. Residues 1683-1874 of human VWF were cloned, the protein was over-expressed and was purified to homogeneity. The calculated molecular weight of recombinant human VWF-A3 domain is 20.5 kDa.
