This recombinant mCherry protein is a bright red fluorescent protein derived from Discosoma sp., commonly used as a fusion tag or reporter in cell biology studies. Produced in E. coli, the recombinant protein has a molecular weight of 31.9 kDa and is supplied at 2 mg/ml in PBS buffer (pH 7.4). With purity >85% as determined by SDS-PAGE, it is ideal for use as a positive control, fluorescence standard, or in biochemical assays.
