• Application Notes:
  Protein content: Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods 1. UV spectroscopy at 280 nm using the absorbency value of 2.02 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1mg/ml) solution. This value is calculated by the PC GENE computer analysis program of protein sequences (IntelliGenetics). 2. Analysis RP-HPLC, using a calibrated solution of Lysostaphin as a Reference standard

• Biological Activity: Assessed by the decrease in turbidity of a suspension of heat-killed Staphylococcus aureus at pH-8, 30°C. Lysostaphin is a zinc enzyme therefore EDTA is an inhibitory factor.
• Purity: 98% as determined by RP-HPLC.

Storage & Handling

• Storage: Stability: Lyophilized Lysostaphin although stable at room temperature for 2 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Lysostaphin can be stored at 4°C up to 3 weeks and for future use below -18°C.Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles
