Description | Rabbit polyclonal to LEF1.Lymphoid enhancer-binding factor 1 (LEF1) is a transcription factor belonging to a family of proteinsthat share homology with the high mobility group protein-1. LEF1 can bind to a functionally importantsite in the T-cell receptor-alpha enhancer, thereby conferring maximal enhancer activity. LEF1 isinvolved in the Wnt signaling pathway, and it may function in hair cell differentiation and folliclemorphogenesis. Mutations in LEF1 have been found in somatic sebaceous tumors. This gene hasalso been linked to other cancers, including androgen-independent prostate cancer. |
