Description | Rabbit polyclonal to KRT7.Keratin 7 (KRT7) is a member of the keratin family. Keratins are intermediate filament proteins incharge of maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial cells. They are subdivided into cytokeratinsand hair keratins. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged inpairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelialtissues. KRT7 is expressed in the simple epithelie, such as the lining of the cavities of internal organs. It blocks the interferon-dependent interphase and stimulates DNA synthesis in cells. It also plays arole in the translational regulation of the human papillomavirus type 16 E7 mRNA. |
