Description | Human Glucagon protein |
Form/Appearance | Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. The protein (1mg/ml) was lyophilized with no additives. |
Purity | Greater than 95.0% as determined by RP-HPLC. |
MW | GLP-2 contains 34 amino acids having a molecular mass of 3922.38 Dalton. |
Solubility (25°C) | It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized GLP-2 in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. |
Protein Sequence | His-Ala-Asp-Gly-Ser-Phe-Ser-Asp-Glu-Met-Asn-Thr-Ile-Leu-Asp-Asn-Leu-Ala-Ala-Arg-Asp-Phe-Ile-Asn-Trp-Leu-Ile-Gln-Thr-Lys-Ile-Thr-Asp-Arg. |
Storage | Lyophilized GLP2 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution GLP2 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Buffer/Preservatives | The protein (1mg/ml) was lyophilized with no additives. |
Alternative names | GLP2, GLP-2, GLP 2. Read more... |
Background | GLP-2 functions as an intestinal growth factor, which stimulates intestinal epithelial growth. GLP2 is involved in diabetes-associated bowel growth. GLP2 enhances cell differentiation, playing a role as a cytokine and in tissue regeneration, and mediating cytoprotection. GLP2 is invloded numerous therapeutic applications. GLP2 regulates signaling pathways coupled to cell proliferation and cell death by apoptosis. GLP-2 is produced by specific post-translational proteolytic cleavage of proGLP. GLP-2 is manufactured by the intestinal endocrine L cell and by several neurons in the central nervous system. |
