It is found in the synaptosome. It can perform functions like synaptic vesicle fusion to presynaptic active zone membrane and glutamate secretion. It plays an extensive role in the synaptic function of specific neuronal systems and associates with proteins involved in vesicle docking and membrane fusion while it can also regulate plasma membrane recycling through its interaction with CENPF.
