Description

Trifluridine is a fluorinated thymidine analog with antineoplastic and antiviral properties. It functions by incorporating into DNA and inhibiting thymidylate synthase, thereby disrupting DNA synthesis and inducing apoptosis. This mechanism has been studied in vitro and in vivo for cancer research, particularly in models of colorectal carcinoma and herpesvirus infections.
