Description

OV329 hydrochloride is a highly potent, mechanism-based irreversible inhibitor of gamma-aminobutyric acid transaminase (GABA-AT). By inhibiting GABA degradation, it increases GABA levels in the brain, thereby enhancing central inhibitory neurotransmission. OV329 hydrochloride is being developed for research into refractory epilepsy and seizure-related conditions. Preliminary studies indicate that it exhibits stronger anticonvulsant activity than vigabatrin and may offer superior ocular safety.
