IPTG hemidioxane

SKU: orb2940672

Description

IPTG hemidioxane is a crystalline form of isopropyl-beta-D-thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG) containing half a molar equivalent of 1,4-dioxane as a solvate, providing enhanced crystallinity and handling properties. IPTG acts as a potent and non-hydrolyzable molecular mimic of allolactose that binds to the lac repressor protein, triggering a conformational change that relieves repression of the lac operon. This inducer is widely employed in bacterial expression systems for recombinant protein production under T7 or lac promoter control.
