CDH1 is endocytosed as aconsequence of tyrosine phosphorylation and ubiquitination. HAKAI interacts with tyrosinephosphorylatedCDH1 and mediates this process. HAKAI contains a RING-finger domain and is alsothought to have a role in the control of cell proliferation.
