• Source: Properdin factor B is a heat-labile serum protein active in the alternative complement activation pathway. It is binding to the C3b component of complement. The protein has a molecular weight of 92,000 and its mean concentration in human plasma is 200 μg/ml. It has been isolated as a homogenous protein for use in antiserum production. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
