Immunogen | This affinity purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic full-length cecropin B corresponding to a modified sequence from that which is found in silkworm: Lys-Trp-Lys-Val-Phe-Lys-Lys-Ile-Glu-Lys-Val-Gly-Arg-Asn-Ile-Arg-Asn-Gly-Ile-Val-Lys-Ala-Gly-Pro-Ala-Ile-Ala-Val-Leu-Gly-Glu-Ala-Lys-Ala-Leu. |
Concentration | 0.33mg/mL |
Dilution range | ELISA: 1:5,000 - 1:20,000, IP: 1:100, WB: 1:500 - 1:5,000 |
Form/Appearance | Liquid (sterile filtered) |
Purity | This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using cecropin B coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and purified and partially purified cecropin B. Reactivity against other forms of cecropins has not yet been determined. |
Conjugation | Unconjugated |
UniProt ID | P04142 |
NCBI | BAA04990.1 |
Storage | Store antibody at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. |
Buffer/Preservatives | 0.01% (w/v) Sodium Azide |

Note | For research use only |
Application notes | Anti-cecropin B is useful for the detection of cecropin B in various immunological assays. This reagent has specific value for the study of cecropins in transgenic plants. The antibody may also recognize naturally occurring cecropin A. Cecropin B has been modified in some instances by substituting a single amino acid to render the molecule less susceptible to proteolytic cleavage. |
