Reactivity against other forms of cecropins has not yet been determined.

• Storage: Store antibody at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

• Application notes: Anti-cecropin B is useful for the detection of cecropin B in various immunological assays. This reagent has specific value for the study of cecropins in transgenic plants. The antibody may also recognize naturally occurring cecropin A. Cecropin B has been modified in some instances by substituting a single amino acid to render the molecule less susceptible to proteolytic cleavage.
